Cypriot First Division outfit, Omonia Nicosia, has ended its association with former Golden Eaglets winger, Akinkunmi Amoo, by terminating his contract, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The decision, made mutually, stems from personal reasons.

Amoo, aged 21, sealed a three-year deal with the league champions in September 2023.

Despite his tenure, the Nigerian player failed to secure a goal in his six appearances for Omonia Nicosia.

Prior to his stint in Cyprus, Amoo plied his trade in Sweden with Hammarby IF and in Denmark with FC Copenhagen.

He notably represented Nigeria at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Tanzania and also featured in the World Cup held in Brazil later the same year.
