Olympics defender Dan Quaye reveals he felt strange playing against Hearts in Accra derby

Great Olympics defender Dan Quaye admits he felt awkward playing against Hearts of Oak – the club that shot him to fame.

The 34-year-old is one of the experienced players signed to help guide the young ones at Olympics.

Quaye alongside the likes of Godwin Attram, Richard Kingson and Osei Boateng have managed to contribute to the rising excitement in the First Capital Plus League.

The massive attendance over the weekend in the Accra derby between Olympics and Hearts have been partly attributed to their presence.

But Dan Quaye admits he felt strange playing against the club he gave a chunk of his productive youth to.

“Yeah I can say that playing against a team you spent most of the footballing life with will definitely feel kind of strange,” he said.

“Though it’s a total different team altogether, Hearts of Oak is still the same. Same feeling, same attitude and the fans have not changed one bit.”
