Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh believes Abia Warriors? centre-back, Austin Oboarakpo, is good enough for the main team just as he thinks some other home-based players need more confidence to perform at an optimal level.

Oliseh is expected to name the squad for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in Rwanda in a fortnight, says the defender has shown enough zest to stake a claim for a place in the team ahead of the Europe-based defenders in the squad like Godfrey Oboabona and Kenneth Omeruo.

“He’s one defender that keeps others on their toes, which is good for the team and he’s showing he’s ready to stake a claim for place in the team,” Oliseh told Completesportsnigeria.com.

Oboarakpo, who has two international caps and started the World Cup qualifier against Swaziland in Port Harcourt for the main Super Eagles?, is expected to be included in Oliseh’s squad for CHAN.
