The club, charged for exceeding Profitability and Sustainability Rules by £34.5m, maintains its focus on securing top-flight status amid the penalty.

Aina emphasized the squad's dedication to earning points, highlighting a collective disregard for the deduction's impact on morale.

“I’m not really bothered about it to be honest. We’ve always been focussing on what we want to do, which is going into games and getting points anyway,” Aina told BBC Sport.

“We didn’t really talk or think about it – we were just thinking about getting points as we normally would.”

The former Torino defender has been a pivotal addition to the team since his inclusion last summer and could leave the Tricky Trees in June if the club fail to activate his one year extension clause.
