According to MLSsoccer.com, Uruguayan center defender Guzman Corujo has signed a pre-contract with Charlotte FC. Corujo's contract with Charlotte begins on January 1st.
Corujo, 25, had a contract with Club Nacional that was set to expire at the end of the year. However, after signing his pre-contract with Charlotte, the Uruguayan club stated today that they had canceled the last three months of his contract. With Nacional, he made 104 appearances and won two league titles.
The defender came via Nacional's youth system and has spent his whole career with the club he grew up with. There's no indication of when Corujo will join Charlotte.
Charlotte hired Miguel Angel Ramirez as their first head coach in July, and the team will join the MLS in 2022 as an expansion team.
