As announced on the club's official channels, Aaron Ramsdale is a new Arsenal player.
Ramsdale joins Arsenal from Sheffield for a 24M GBP transfer fee, a significant reduction from the starting 40M they were asking for. He will now compete for a starting spot with Bernd Leno. The Gunners had been looking for a goalkeeper for some time now, with rumors linking them to Andre Onana before management decided to go with Ramsdale.
The 23-year old camew up in Sheffield's youth ranks, before making his debut with Bournemouth in 2017. After a couple of loan spells at Chesterfield and Wimbledon, he went back to Sheffield where he spent last season, making 40 appearances. We'll have to wait and see if the goalkeeper will be able to snatch the starting spot from Leno this season.
