David Duncan was officially introduced to the Asante Kotoko playing body as the incoming head coach of the side in Algeria on Thursday.
The former Hearts of Oak trainer traveled with the team for their CAF Champions League game against MC El Eulma despite not having sealed his two-year move to the Ghanaian champions.
Duncan has agreed in principle to sign the contract on the team’s return from Algeria.
The 51-year-old was however introduced to the team as the incoming coach of the side before holding their first training session in Algeria.
“We all know why we are here,” General Manager Opoku Nti told the players before Thursday morning’s training session.
“There are certain things we have to let you know. In Ghana, you [heard] a lot of things. If you have seen Coach Duncan here…He is here as an observer…
“By the grace or the will of God, he will be you new head coach by the time we return to Ghana.
“We have to give him that honour…Arrangements, everything is being done by the time we get to Ghana; he will be your new head coach. I wish you all the best…”
