Kotoko striker Obed Owusu is relieved after the side ended their back-to-back defeats in the Premier League following their hard-fought 3-2 win at Great Olympics.

The Porcupine Warriors had to dig deep with Burkinabe striker Ahmed Toure bagging a brace at the Accra sports stadium.

Kotoko has not won a game since the start of the second half of the campaign after defeats against Heart of Lions and New Edubiase.

But they looked temporarily transformed as they dished out an impressive performance against the Wonder Club.

And striker Obed Owusu is delighted the side has ended the streak of poor results.

“This is a big relieve for us. We had to win this game and thank God we managed to win,” he said

“We have to keep going like this and see what happens at the end of the season.

“It’s been pretty tough for us since the start of the second round but we’re determined to re-write the wrong.

“We want to make our fans happy and so we’ll continue to forge ahead in unity.”

Kotoko will stay in the capital ahead of their next game against Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman on Sunday.
