Participating in their first Nigeria Women Football League Super 6, Heartland Queens Coach, Obi Ogbala says they are in the tournament to compete and win, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.
Ogbala speaking after the draws of the Super 6 states that his team gave itself a goal of reaching the Super 6 and that goal has been met.
"This is the first of Heartland Queens reaching the Super Six. We gave ourselves the target of being in the Super six and we have achieved it"
He further talks about his team chances at the tournament that begins on Saturday at Yenegao, Bayelsa State.
Ogbala speaks on their first match against Nasarawa Amazons, stating their intent to win and not just occupy positions.
"Nasarawa Amazons are our first opponents, and we're ready to compete with the teams. I want to compete and represent Nigeria on the continent," Obi added.
Obi states that his team is young and raring to compete against Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Nasarawa Amazons, Confluence Queens Edo Queens and win the trophy.
"The team is young, and the players want to make names for themselves. They're going to put in their utmost efforts to see how far they can go in the competition and win the trophy."
The NWFL Super 6 commences on Saturday with the opener between Confluence Queens and Edo Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
