Rivers Angels earned vital points away from home after beating Lagos side, Robo Queens in the first Nigeria Women Football League match in 2024, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Jewels of Rivers piped the Lagos LandLadies 2-1 to start the year on a rousing note at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan Lagos on Wednesday.

Motunrayo Ezekiel opened the score for the 7-time champions of the league with 7 minutes of play.

Mary Salami drew level for the hosts 7 minutes before the end of the first half as the half ended 1-1.
