NWFL: Confluence Queens, Heartland Queens leave bottom place after win

In the Nigeria Women's Football League, NWFL match day 6 fixtures, Confluence Queens and Heartland did their league positions a lot of good with respective wins on Wednesday.

As at the beginning of the year, the two teams languished at the bottom of group A and B, but after two impressive results the two teams are safe for now.

The Ladies from Owerri recorded their first win against the Warri based team in a 1-0 away from home at the Sapele Township Stadium.

The goal came in the 40th minute courtesy of Orji Chinwendu's strike. A goal that secured their first win of the season.

Confluence Queens got their second win of the season with win against Robo Queens as they won by two goal to one.

Goals from Zainab Azeez handed then the win after Folashade Ijamilusi opened score for the visitors at the Confluence Stadium.

In another group A clash, there was nothing to choose in the star match of the day between Rivers Angels and Delta Queens as it ended goalless after 90 minutes.

Bayelsa Queens were denied all points by Naija Ratels after Agama Ziperekefeghe cancelled Juliet Sunday's first half goal in the 73rd minutes.
