Former champions, Bayelsa Queens showed their might on Wednesday as they beat Edo Queens 3-0 in the match day 7 encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Three goals from Chinyere Igboamalu all in the second half propelled the Prosperity Ladies to a vital win in group B of the NWFL standings.

After a cagey affair in the first half that saw the Benin side hold the 2022 league champions, Bayelsa started the second installment like a house on fire.

Igboamalu put the host in front just 2 minutes after the restart with a sublime finish.

She doubled the lead in the 56th minute with a long range effort, making the score 2-0.

Igboamalu completed her hatrick 20 minutes to the end of the encounter to end the score 3-0 in Yenegoa.

The win moves Bayelsa Queens to second with 12 points ahead of Edo Queens on goal difference and 2 points adrift Rivers Angels who are top of group B with 14 points.
