Defending champions Rivers United have qualified for the Super Six tournament of the Nigeria Premier Football League after beating Sunshine Stars in their match day 12 rescheduled game, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Morice Chukwu's strike was enough to earn the "Pride of Rivers three points at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Portharcourt.

After playing a draw in their last rescheduled game played on Thursday, the Rivers side started with a great momentum that saw them score in the 9th minute, but Albert Korvah was adjudged to have used his hands.
