NPFL'23: Lobi Stars' Ass Coach insists team can get better

As Lobi Stars continue their unbeaten run after their loss in the first match of the season, Assistant Coach of the team, Tar Akombo has revealed the secret behind the team's success and the need for them to get better, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Markudi based team have not lost in six matches with a draw and five wins which has kept them top of the League's group B standings ahead of reigning champions, Rivers United.

Akombo who reacted after their win against Dakkada FC on Sunday to journalist attributed the team's performance to unity and hard work.

He went further to state that team will not rest on its oars as more work will be done to make the team better.

According to Akombo “football is dynamic, sometimes you don’t get what you expect but the most important thing is the 3pts we’ve got though we’ll go back to the drawing board to see where we needed to work on and fix it”

Coach Umar Danlami of Dakkada FC for his part,  stated that there was optimism for his team to get something out of the game, but it was not to be. They will have to shift their attention to the next game.

However, he gave his boys kudos for the quality exhibited as he posited that “Dakkada is always a work in progress because we lose players every season, reassemble but with what they played today,I’m impressed”.
