Lobi Stars have a chance to further cement their position at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League when they take on Go Round FC at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium Omoku.

The Makurdi club along with Niger Tornadoes have the best away records in the NPFL this season having amassed nine points on the road.

They sit at the top of the standings with 43 points, five more than second placed Akwa United who also face a tricky road trip to Damaturu where they will be the guests of Yobe Desert Stars.

The Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium will host the oriental derby clash between Enugu Rangers and Heartland, while Niger Tornadoes and Wikki Tourists will clash in the Northern derby in Minna.

Heartland ended a run of seven NPFL games without a win by edging out Go Round 1-0 in Owerri last weekend.

Third placed Kano Pillars have a  chance to close the gap on Lobi Stars when they host Rivers United at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last six NPFL games.

Elsewhere, MFM FC who are still basking in the euphoria of last Sunday’s 1-0 away win against FC Ifeanyiubah will entertain struggling El-Kanemi Warriors at the Agege Stadium.

Champions Plateau United will be up against Abia Warriors at the New Jos Stadium.

Kennedy Boboye’s men sit in fifth position, seven points adrift of leaders Lobi Stars.

In Ilorin, Kwara United will look to compound the woes of FC Ifeanyiubah when both teams clash at the Kwara Sports Complex.

19th placed Sunshine Stars will hope to ease their relegation worries by grabbing maximum points in their clash against Nasarawa United.
