Kwara United club chairman, Kumbi Titiloye could only thank God when he spoke about the club’s unforgettable experience and relegation escape this season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Irrespective of their result on the last day of the regular season, the Afonja Warriors will play in the Nigeria Professional Football League next season after their hard fought one-nil win over Nasarawa United on matchday 17.
Recall that Mallam Olatunji Mohammed, a popular businessman in Ilorin, made a three hundred thousand naira promise to encourage the players in their fight against relegation.
Fortunately, coach Kabiru Dogo’s boys avoided the drop.
“To God be the glory, because, what we faced this season, I would never wish it for my enemy. And it has taught me a lot of things about life.
“But we thank God and take the positives from the whole scenario. It’s not something for the public,” Titiloye told the club’s media per Daily Post.
