The nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions visit the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, seeking to upset the unbeaten hosts.

Akanni holds Rivers United's technical crew, led by his former coach Yemi Olanrewaju, in high regard.

"I know it's going to be an interesting one," Akanni told BSN Sports.

"We'll be playing against a well-managed side that is still unbeaten."

Enyimba, meanwhile, has made a promising start to the season.

"We've also not started badly," Akanni added. "I'm looking forward to an intriguing encounter."
