Nottingham Forest has exercised its one-year option to extend Ola Aina's contract, ensuring the Nigerian full-back will remain at the City Ground for the 2024/25 season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Aina, 27, joined Forest last summer and quickly became a key player. He made 22 appearances and scored one crucial goal, playing an instrumental role in the team’s successful fight against relegation.
Despite a challenging season, including a four-point deduction in March for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, Forest managed to avoid the drop.
Forest's Premier League survival was confirmed with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Burnley on the final day of the season.
The win left them in 17th place, six points clear of the relegation zone, highlighting the squad's resilience and determination.
Reflecting on his time at the club, Aina said: “I’ve been really happy with my time spent here at Forest and the fans have been great. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
