After 90 minutes of action there was nothing to choose between two former champions of the Nigeria Women Football League, Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens as they played a draw, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The table-toppers clash between the two South-South giants ended 1-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

Peace Effoing opened the scoring for the hosts after 9 minutes of action, but the visitors found the crucial response through Zainab Olopade 17 minutes later.

It remained 1-1 at the end of the first half and could been a different score in the second half after 70 minutes.

The hosts had the opportunity to restore their lead from the spot but Aminat Folorunsho was denied by superb goalkeeping from Monle Omini.

The 2022 champions remained resolute to keep the 2021 champions and get something out of the game.

The two sides remain top of group B with 11 points with Bayelsa Queens edging it on goal difference.
