Following a convincing 2-0 Conference C victory over visiting EFCC FC on match-day fifteen of the 2023–24 Nigeria National League played at the Lafia City Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Nasarawa United have furthered their quest for an expeditious return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

In order to ensure that United would need just one point to officially guarantee a play-off spot, mid-season acquisition Terdoo Shimaga scored twice in the 10th and 34th minutes, respectively, before the break. The decisive match would be United's away game against Zamfara United in Sokoto on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Attacker, Shimaga, was voted Man-of-the-Match in the game versus EFCC as the Lafia-based side climaxed their home fixtures winning all eight games, he now has three goals from three matches.

Saturday's victory extended the Solid Miners' points over Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi to six even as the Bauchi-based side would give their all in their game against boundary neighbours, Mighty Jets International FC who lost their last home game to Nasarawa United,1-2, with Shimaga also on the score sheet for the Lafia-based side.

El-Kanemi Warriors' slim win over hosts, Yobe Desert Stars, in the other Conference C game ensured the Maiduguri-based team are the first side to qualify for the Super Eight after ending the Season with 34 points.
