NNL: Gateway United relegate to NLO

Gateway United of Abeokuta has been relegated to the third-tier division, Nationwide League One, at the end of the 2024/2025  Nigeria National League season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

After spending 15 consecutive seasons in Nigeria’s second-tier league (NNL), the Ogun State-based club will have no part in the league following their loss to Godswill Akpabio United.

Gateway United lost 3-0 to the Uyo side at the Uyo Township Stadium on Saturday following a fourth-minute goal by Dauda Umar.

And Macoyn Biokpor, after half an hour, played before Nsiaka Moses consolidated victory for the hosts on 65 minutes.

The result brings to an end Gateway United's stay in the league after garnering 22 points in 20 matches with 6 wins, 4 draws, and 10 losses.
