Bayelsa United are closer than before to NPFL return after securing a vital away draw in the penultimate game of the Nigeria National League Southern Conference Group B2, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Missed out of promotion last season despite winning the Aiteo Cup, Bayelsa United continued their impressive form this season and with just a game left, they have their destiny in their own hands when they play host to Warri Wolves who are also in close contention with them for the sole group B2 ticket.

With both teams Levelled on 37 points as we head into the final match day, a draw will see Bayelsa United promote should another rival Crown FC who are on 36 points lose or draw their final game.

A win for Bayelsa United automatically puts them in the NPFL map for next season no matter the results garnered by Crown FC.

Warri Wolves likewise need an outright win against Bayelsa United if they're to pick the sole NPFL ticket.

Meanwhile Ottasolo FC of Lagos have been relegated after failing to the maximum points away against Ijebu United.

The Lagos based club will play in the NLO next season.

Likewise in the group, it will be a battle for survival on the final match day as 7 teams will battle for their lives, two of which will join Ottasolo in the NLO.

In group B1, with the NPFL ticket winner decided weeks back, the focus is on the drop zone and with 3 teams billed for relegation and Campos FC already gone, it will be a battle to watch out for as teams occupying positions between 5th to 11th can still drop to the NLO.

It'll be an interesting fixtures across on the final match day of the 2021/22 Nigeria National League season.
