It was an enthralling encounter as the Nigeria National League began with Abakaliki FC and Madiba FC as the two teams settled for a point a piece, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The encounter between De Rice Boys and the Oshodi Boys ended 2-2  at the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium, Abakaliki.

The hosts were in front as early as the 7th minute of the game courtesy of a strike from Ekene Osuigwe, scoring the first goal of the season.

David Adeyemi brought Madiba FC back on level terms with 10 minutes remaining to the end of the first half to see both sides go into the dressing room with a 1-1 scoreline.

Daniel restored the home side's lead on 73 minute of action, but substitute Nkwoemeka Ifeanyi made sure the Lagos based club didn't go home empty handed after restoring parity on 82 minute of the game.

After the game, Governor of Ebonyi, His Excellency Fransis Ogbonna Nwifuru appreciated the two teams with cash rewards and promised to make Abakakili FC better.
