NLO'23: TradeSafe FC end Lekki United's unbeaten run to pick NNL spot

Tradesafe Sports FC defeated Lekki United in the Nationwide League One promotional playoffs to secure promotion to the Nigeria National League on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Lagos Derby ended one nil courtesy of a second half penalty by defender Adejumo Ganiyu at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne Ogun State to end the unbeaten run of Lekki United.

Odeyemi Bolaji had failed to give Trade Sport the lead after he his penalty early in the first half was saved by goalkeeper, missed Akingbade Samson as a first half dominated by Trade Sport ended barren.

However, Trade got another penalty in the 58th minute after Saheed's cross was handled by United's defender as the referee gave a penalty that was scored by Adejumo Ganiyu.

Tradesafe Sports held on with 30 minutes left to achieve a historic feat of gaining promotion to the second tier of Nigerian club football.

They join Osun United, Coal City FC, Rahbam FC, Jedo FC, Maikunkele FC and Beyond Limit to progress. Uche Dozie
