Emmanuel Emenike looks to be the perfect replacement for Ghana attacker Asamoah Gyan at Al Ain after the Nigerian striker scored both goals for the UAE side in their league match on Sunday.

Emenike, who was signed from Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the summer to replace Gyan, scored for Al Ain to maintain a 100 per cent start with a 2-0 victory against Al Wasl.

The title holders won the match thanks to a second-half double from the Nigerian who takes his tally to four goals after three competitive matches.

The victory means Al Ain have six points from a possible six, having opened the season last month with a 3-1 win at home to Al Dhafra.
