Nigerian Goalkeeper Kayode Bankole Joins Tanzania's Gold Geita FC

Nigerian goalkeeper Kayode Bankole has completed a free transfer to Tanzanian Premier League newcomers Gold Geita FC after signing a one-year contract with the club, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

The 23-year-old joins Gold Geita following the mutual termination of his contract with South African Premier Soccer League side TS Galaxy.

Bankole moved to TS Galaxy in 2025 after leaving former Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars at the expiration of his contract. However, he was unable to make a competitive appearance during his spell with the South African club.

The switch to Tanzania presents the goalkeeper with an opportunity to revive his career after spending close to a year without first-team football.

Gold Geita secured promotion to the Tanzanian Premier League after winning the NBC Championship last season and will be hoping Bankole's arrival strengthens their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The club also boasts continental experience, having represented Tanzania in the CAF Confederation Cup during the 2022/23 season.
