Nigeria rank 6th in Africa, 40th in the world as FIFA release March rankings

Super Eagles of Nigeria have been ranked as the 40th best national football team and 6th in Africa according to the lastest FIFA rankings, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The male national team in the month of March played a doubleheader friendly with Guinea-Bissau which they won one and lost the other.

In number spot in Africa is the Atlas Lions of Morocco who enjoyed a 2-1 win over Brazil during the month of March. They are placed 11th in the world.

Senegal is the second best team in Africa according to the ranking and they are number 18 in the world.

Tunisia ranked 28th in the world, 3rd in Africa. Algeria and Egypt placed 34th and 35th respectively in the world, that is 4th and 5th in Africa.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will have three opportunity to improve their place in the rankings during the next FIFA international break when they take on Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe in their final two AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
