Victorious Super Eagles of Nigeria are now smiling to the bank after they got some of their outstanding payments immediately after their 2-1 win in Zambia yesterday.

They received their flight ticket refunds, match bonus for the AFCON qualifier against Tanzania last month as well as appearance fees for two friendlies in May against Mali and Luxembourg.

It is estimated that a player who was involved in all three matches would have received close to $8,000. The win bonus for yesterday's World Cup qualifier in Ndola is now the only payment outstanding for the Eagles.

Next month, Nigeria will welcome Algeria to Uyo in continuation of the World Cup qualifying series. Meanwhile, John Ogu has slammed "disrespecting" comparisons likening his situation at international level to that of Nosa Igiebor.

The Hapoel Be'er Sheva's midfielder was snubbed for Nigeria's World Cup qualifier against Zambia, with technical adviser Gernot Rohr telling media he was dropped because he had a better player in Maccabi Tel Aviv's Igiebor.

But the former Academica player has reacted angrily to suggestions that the scenarios are not comparable, while claiming he would give his best when called upon.
