Coach Samson Siasia has expressed confidence that with the calibre of players invited, the Super Eagles can win the two-legged encounters against Egypt in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. Thurdays, Siasia unveiled the list of players he plans to use to execute the clash against Egypt in Kaduna on March 25.
Among those invited are John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, Godfrey Oboabona, Leon Balogun, Moses Simon and Alex Iwobi.
While for the home-based players the likes of Emmanuel Daniel, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Chisom Chikatara, Oghenekaro Etebo, Prince Aggrey and Ifeanyi Matthew.
In a chat with nigeriasoccernet.com, Siasia said: “I insist that we have invited the players who are capable of giving us the three points in Kaduna and another three points in Alexandria."
Siasia, who expects stiff competition for places in camp, stated that the current Eagles players can replicate the feat of their predecessors who beat Egypt 4-0 in 1977 in a FIFA 1978 World Cup qualifier in Lagos.
“We can recreate October 1977; why not? The home –boys have come in and full training has commenced. Everyone is raring to go. By the time the foreign –based players arrive, the competition will be what we wanted."
