Juventus have announced that Argentina forward Nico Gonzalez has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 30 June 2030.
The 28-year-old returned to Turin after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Atletico Madrid. Gonzalez scored five goals in 35 appearances for the Spanish club, but he did not play enough league matches to trigger the mandatory purchase clause in his loan agreement.
According to Italian media reports, Atletico Madrid attempted to negotiate a permanent transfer during the summer. However, the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement over the fee.
Gonzalez has once again become an important part of the Juventus team at the start of the current season. He has made five appearances in all competitions, scoring twice, and has started the club’s last three Serie A matches.
