Just days after his heroics for Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side, Akwa United in the league, Ndifreke Effiong has left for Iraq club, Quwa Al-Jawiya Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The Air force club on Wednesday February 1, 2023 announced it has completed the signing of the 24-year old Nigerian international alongside Ghana’s Afriyie Acquah.

Effiong returned to Nigeria in October last year after terminating his contract with the Libyan side Ahly Benghazi, scoring brace in Akwa Utd 0-3 away win against Nasarawa United in the NPFL.

He didn't travel with the team to Ibadan when they played Kwara United last Wednesday following his imminent move to the Iraqi club.

He is likely to be involved in his first game for his new employers in Saturday.
