Ndidi: We will channel anger from Tottenham Hotspur humiliation to finish the season strongly

Leicester City's players will channel the anger felt from suffering a 6-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur into their final game of the season against Bournemouth, says in form Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi.

The Leicester midfielder admitted harsh words had been exchanged in the dressing room following the chastening loss but the team are determined to finish on a high.

The scoreline was the worst for Leicester at the King Power Stadium since since a 5-0 drubbing by Aston Villa in January 2004, and the timing was awkward for Craig Shakespeare ahead of talks about his future.

Ndidi admitted Kasper Schmeichel was furious but vowed the team would respond when Bournemouth visit with a top-half finishing place still to fight for.

‘It was really disappointing, it is the lowest I have felt since joining,’ said Ndidi, a £15m January acquisition.

‘I could see the anger in Kasper's face but everybody is sad. The coach said now we have to finish on a high, he wants that.

‘For the goals everyone is angry and everybody is not happy about it. We just have to let it go and focus on the last game. We really tried to get back in the game but Tottenham broke after the third goal everything was not normal.

‘We really need to try and end the season with a smile on the face of the fans. It is possible we will use the anger on Sunday to help us. I am thinking about this and we have to give everything to win.’

Ndidi gave his backing to Shakespeare, saying: ‘I don't know what will happen but Shakey is a good coach. Every player is doing his best.’
