Once having parted ways with Stanislav Cherchesov, Russian football federation announced having named 52-year old Valeri Karpin new full-side national team head coach.
Training FK Rostov beforehand, from December 2017 up until now, Karpin had also worked, as a first-team manager, for Torpedo Armavir, RCD Mallorca, and Spartak Moscow.
