FC Cologne right full back Kingsley Ehizibue would have made the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the friendly game against Ukraine next month if not for administrative issues, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

Ehizibue who recently moved to German Bundesliga side Cologne from Dutch side PEC Zwolle was lined up for his maiden call up but his switch of allegiance from the Netherlands to Nigeria is yet to get the green light from FIFA.

He represented the Netherlands at U21 level in a competitive fixture two years ago, ironically he played for them around same time he turned down Nigeria alongside his agency mate Tyrone Ebuehi who has since gone on to represent Nigeria at the World Cup.

Now 24 years old, Ehizibue who is also eligible to play for Germany as he was born there believe his international career will blossom better if he plays for Nigeria than continue with the Netherlands and paperworks have already started in that regard.

The German coach of the Nigerian team want to overhaul his defence and Ehizibue who he tried to convince three years ago is heavily in the list of players he has in mind
