Nasarawa United are close to returning to top flight football following their win over Sokoto United in the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Solid Miners edged the tie 2-1 against Sokoto United to record their second consecutive win needing a point in their last match to earn the Nigeria Premier Football League ticket from the four teams in the Northern Conference.
Sokoto United opened score on 8 minute through Adama Samuel before Anas Yusuf restored parity for the Nasarawa United at the dead of the first half.
Umar Ada gave Nasarawa the lead five minutes after the resumption of the game. The goal proved enough to seal the win for the Miners.
