Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina thanked his fans and supporters after being released from the hospital because of a head injury he sustained in a 4-2 win against Udinese.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone for your prayers and your thoughts," Ospina wrote on Twitter. "I am fine and recovering with my family. I hope to be back soon and stronger than ever!"

Ospina was taken to hospital after suffering a cut on his head when he clashed with Udinese winger Ignacio Pussetto  on five minutes while coming out to claim the ball.

After being patched up by Napoli's medical staff, the Colombia international carried on playing with protective headgear, but in the 42nd minute, Ospina collapsed to the ground with nobody around him.

Concerned medical staff raced onto the pitch to care for the goalkeeper, who was replaced by Alex Meret and stretchered off the pitch before being transported to hospital.

Napoli had let a 2-0 lead slip to draw 2-2 when Ospina left the pitch, but in the second half, goals from Arkadiusz Milik and Dries Mertens restored their two-goal advantage to give them the win.
