Al Nassr winger, Ahmed Musa, has joined his former Leicester teammates, including compatriots Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho in mourning The Foxes’ late owner, Vichai Srivaddhnaprabha who lost his life, along with four others in a helicopter clash on Saturday
Two members of Srivaddhnaprabha’s staff, Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpar; the Pilot, Eric Swaff, and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz (a pilot) also died in the crash.
Srivaddhnaprabha watched Leicester City drew 1-1 at home with West Ham, which happened to be the last football match he witnessed, with Ndidi scoring the last goal he saw before boarding his private helicopter and met his sudden death.
Ndidi and his compatriots were among the Twitter users who promptly paid tribute to the Thailand’s fourth richest man who bankrolled Leicester City with passion.
A Ndidi disconsolate Ndidi tweeted on his Twitter handle: “You were far too kind and supportive. Thank you for all you did for the club, for always encouraging the team and coming all the way to watch me play at the World Cup. Rest on sir #theboss?”
Kelechi Iheanacho mourned on Twitter too: “May the good Lord accept your soul rest on boss ???.”
Ahmed Musa who left Leicester City to join Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia could not hide his grief.
“Someone special, will not be forgotten, wonderful memories will live on forever, death can never take a good man away, in the hearts of people he inspired, the legacy remains and continues throughout generations. He was a great man and father to many, may his soul RIP ??? ,” Musa tweeted.
Leicester City Manager Claude Puel and The Foxes’ other players have also paid tributes to their beloved chairman.
Puel told Radio France amid speculation that he also boarded the ill-fated helicopter: “It’s a tragedy for the club. I think very strongly about the victims and their families. I wanted to reassure everyone who cares about me, I’m terribly sad but I’m fine.”
Leicester captain Wes Morgan tweeted: “Absolutely heartbroken and devastated regarding the news of our chairman. A man that was loved and adored by everyone here at lcfc.”
Leicester winger Demarai Gray also tweeted: “Devastated. A generous, kind man who always had a smile on his face. Always believed in us and never stop supporting us. I’d like to Thank You for helping me and everyone involved with the club including the fans achieve such amazing things. Dreams.?RIP, ?? #TheBoss.”
Leicester forward, James Maddison: “Devastated and heartbroken at the news that no one survived the helicopter crash yesterday ? Life isn’t fair sometimes. A wonderful thoughtful man who lived and breathed Leicester City Football Club. Rest in Peace Boss ? #ThanksBoss.”
Defensive Midfielder, Vincente Iborra:
“I have no words to express the sadness today. My deepest condolences to everyone in @LCFC. I am very grateful to our chairman for the treatment and affection since I arrived.He was a very great man.
