Mourinho says Ferland Mendy has returned to Real Madrid training

Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy has resumed training with the first team, manager Jose Mourinho said, describing it as the first time the France international has worked with the squad.

Mendy’s last appearance came at the beginning of May. The 29-year-old has been with Real Madrid since 2019 but has not played this season after a lengthy recovery from injury.

Real Madrid are due to host Villarreal on Saturday, 10 October, in the eighth round of the Spanish championship. Kick-off is scheduled for 22:00 Moscow time.
