In a Western Conference duel between third and fourth-placed clubs, the Rapids cut the Galaxy's lead to a single point, all with two games remaining.

The Rapids scored within the opening 15 minutes, spurred by a foul by Raveloson on Lewis in the Galaxy box in the 10th minute. Referee Silviu Petrescu needed a few moments to confirm through Video Review that the ball was definitely traveling to the spot.

But once he did, Lewis took care of the situation himself, firing a powerful strike past Jonathan Bond in goal. However, in the 34th minute, Raveloson redeemed himself by volleying in his fifth goal in ten Galaxy appearances.

The Rapids broke the tie through Shinyashiki who got his head on a Jack Price corner ball, deflected from a Cole Bassett header to the far post, where he climbed just high enough on his well-timed leap to beat Bond barely a minute after coming in.

The Galaxy was unable to score an equalizer late in the game, breaking their four-match undefeated streak.
