According to Sam Stejskal from The Athletic, Atlanta United has reached out to the Seattle Sounders to request permission to interview assistant Gonzalo Pineda for the club’s head coaching position. Pineda, 38, has been a Sounders assistant since January 2017. He interviewed for the D.C. United job this winter. This news follows the news from earlier today that Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca turned down an offer to become Atlanta head coach.The former AS Roma coach wants to keep coaching in Europe and he will be waiting for the next chance.
