The 45-year-old is reported to require victory to guarantee that he remains in charge. Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 Moscow time.

Manchester United have taken six points from their opening six matches and are 14th in the English top-flight table.

Carrick became manager in January this year, replacing Ruben Amorim after the Portuguese coach was dismissed. The Englishman signed a contract extension over the summer that keeps him at the club until 2028.

However, his position is now reportedly under immediate threat with Manchester United preparing to face Leeds.
