The Phobians went ahead just before the break after defender Kingsley Adjei deflected Gilbert Fiamenyo's intended pass into his own net.

But a contentious penalty award to the home side in the 56th minute afforded Daniel Egyin the chance to restore parity for Hasaacas and he expertly slotted the ball into Abdoulaye Soulama's net.

Hearts returned to domestic action for the first time after securing progress in the CAF Confederation Cup.

They got the game on it wheels in the opening 20 minutes and should have scored within the time but missed a string of twin chances.

After the period, Hasaacas came into the game but their dominance was lukewarm as Hearts occasionally established their dominance with fluid midfield exchanges between Leonard Tawiah and Inusa Musa.

Hearts's goal was a hallmark of a real slick and rehearsed training ground goal - Tawiah laced with Inusa in midfield who found Selasi Adjei. The attacker located Richard Yamoah whose ball found Fiamenyo inside the box.

The initial idea was to get the ball to Adjei who was better positioned but Kingsley Adjei - the Hasaacas defender, blocked the ball and the results of his intervention was an own-goal for Hearts.

Hasaacas got the leveller when Philip Boampong handled the ball inside the box and Egyin stepped up to defeat Soulama to it.

Hasaacas could have won the tie at the death but Amos Korankye's header rather tested the strength of Soulama's crossbar.
