Marseille have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg from Tottenham Hotspur on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.
The deal is reported to be worth €20 million ($21.8m), with Højbjerg following Man United's Mason Greenwood in joining Marseille, who are managed by former Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi.
Højbjerg, 28, joined Spurs from Southampton in 2020 and made 184 appearances for the north London club, scoring 10 goals. He featured in 36 of Spurs' Premier League games last season, though 26 of those came as a substitute.
The Denmark international started his professional career with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, gaining experience with loans to Augsburg and Schalke.
He has 81 caps for his country, scoring 10 goals, and was part of the squad that lost to Germany in the round of 16 at Euro 2024.
