Marko Arnautovic to Decide Stoke City Future After European Championship

Published on: 12 June 2016

"?Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic is refusing to rule out a move away from the Britannia Stadium, but has so far remained coy on speculation surrounding his future, according to "?Bild.

The Austrian has become quite popular with the Potters' support, also forming a formidable partnership up front with former Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic.

He is set to play an important role for his country's national side, who will kick off their Euro 2016 campaign against Hungary on Tuesday at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Arnautovic's Stoke contract will expire at the end of next season, and the powerful front man has so far refused to pledge his future to the club.

"I am not thinking about it at the moment," he explained. "I have a contract until 2017. My brother, who is also my agent, has already sat down with Stoke.

"I cannot say if I will stay there or not. I first want to play a strong European Championship, stay healthy and then we will see where I play next season."

Arnautovic aims to stay in the Premier League, however, and doesn't seem keen on returning to Germany, where he spent three years with Werder Bremen before joining Stoke.

"One can not rule anything out," he said after being asked if he would favour a move back to Germany.

"But my goal is to stay in England. I feel very comfortable there, have performed well.

"There I would be accepted. In Germany it was a bit different. Since I had ups and downs."
