In-form Maritzburg United striker Mohammed Anas says he is confident of an imminent Black Stars call-up despite being overlooked for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 20-year-old has been an instant hit at the South African Premier Soccer League on his debut season.

He has scored five league goals- including the brace against Orlando Pirates- in the first half of the season.

But Anas was snubbed by head coach Avram Grant in his provisional 31-man squad for the tournament.

He told GHANASoccernet.com: “Every Ghanaian who plays football has dreams of playing for his country sooner or later.

“I have had a good season so far but I must accept that not all will be given the opportunity at the same time but I know if I continue this way my time will come soon.

“All we can do is pray the team does well because the truth is, if they do well it raises the image of every Ghanaian player.”
