Okoye was booked for time wasting in Udinese’s 2-1 win at Lazio in March 2024, with a series of bets on this occurrence flagged as suspicious.

However, Okoye was found not guilty of match fixing and gambling rules breaches.

The ban will take effect from August 18th when Udinese play Carrarese in the Coppa Italia till October 19th, which he will miss 6 Serie A games.
