LSFA newly appointed female football development committee set for first mentorship training

The Lagos State Football Association is its continued quest for footballing excellence, has announced the establishment of its Female Football Development Committee, ostensibly aimed at empowering women in football, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

To kick off its initiatives, the committee will host a mentorship and training program on August 10th, 2024.

According LSFA, the programme will provide a platform for female players, coaches, and referees to develop their skills, share experiences, and connect with industry professionals.

The one-day event slated to hold at the prestigious Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, beginning from 9am to 5pm. And it will include a mini- tournament for girls between the ages of 9-18 years, as well as, training sessions, workshops, and mentorship opportunities, all focused on promoting gender equality and growth in football.

"We are committed to creating opportunities for women/girls to succeed in football," said Mrs Raliat Anako Abdulsalam, Chairperson of the Female Football Development Committee.

"This program is just the beginning of our efforts to foster a supportive community and promote female participation in the sport. Join us as we take the first step towards a brighter future for women in football," it added.
