Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a big admirer of the youngster and the "?Mirror report that Liverpool had an £11m bid rejected by Dortmund during the transfer window.
Klopp initially promoted him to train with the first team in January 2015 when he was then the manager of Dortmund. Pulisic broke his first record in April 2016 when he became the youngest foreigner to score in the Bundesliga when he netted against Hamburger SV.
The Reds are still very interested in Pulisic and continue to monitor his progress.
The 6-0 win yesterday moves the US closer to the final stage of CONCACAF qualification for the 2018 World Cup. A point against already qualified Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday would see the US progress to the round known as the Hex.
Pulisic has now bagged three goals in seven appearances for his country and will be hoping to add to that total should he feature on Tuesday. Pulisic's rapid rise through the US youth national teams as well as his rise with Borussia Dortmund have led to increasing attention for the young 17-year-old midfielder.
