"?Liverpool have made an offer of £11m to German giants Borussia Dortmund for talented teenage winger Christian Pulisic, according to trusted Merseyside journalist Tony Barrett.
German outlet Bild reported earlier this week that Premier League rivals Stoke City had made a bumper offer of €20m for the 17-year-old, though Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and Russian side CSKA Moscow are also in the running to sign the player - who has already been capped for the United States senior team despite his youth.
Liverpool have made an £11m offer for Christian Pulisic, Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old winger.
Pulisic is reported to be unhappy with his lack of opportunities under Thomas Tuchel, having seen the club bring in a batch of fresh talent over the summer. The likes of Ousmane Dembele, Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle and Marco Reus remain ahead of him in the pecking order, even while Henrikh Mkhitaryan was sold to Manchester United earlier this summer.
Premier League clubs such as Stoke and Liverpool have been put on the alert as a result, with several of them monitoring the situation.
According to another Liverpool journalist, the "?Express' Paul Joyce, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer. It was after all the Liverpool manager who promoted Pulisic to train with the Dortmund first team when he was only 16.
Joyce reported: "Dortmund are reluctant to let Pulisic leave, but have recruited attacking reinforcements this summer and the youngster faces a battle to build upon his impressive impact last season.
"Klopp believes he would be an excellent addition both for now and the future, although Klopp's seven-year association with Dortmund means a deal is more complicated."
He did however this week fail to divulge information on where he wants to strengthen his squad before the end of the transfer window, though this latest approach may come as a surprise as the club are already well stocked in attacking midfield.
Klopp said "?earlier this week: "I wait for the day when the transfer window is closed. I can't believe how obsessed you all (journalists) are with this. What will happen we will see, I don't know in this moment, but we do not have a preferred position to sign players."
