"?Liverpool have joined a Premier League battle to capture Leicester midfield maestro N'golo Kante as rumours mount that the £22m rated player is set to leave Leicester this summer, according to the "?Daily Star.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have joined the race alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham with bitter rivals Manchester United currently said to be ahead of the pack and favourites to sign the 25-year-old.

Kante has had a sensational debut season for Leicester, becoming an intrinsic part of the Premier League winning side and because of this, the Midlands club is said to be reluctant to let the French intentional leave so easily.

But with a £22m release clause in his contract, Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri may well struggle keep hold of the midfield battler, who has received more transfer enquiries than Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy put together.

Speculation grew last week over a possible move to the Emirates for Kante, as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger heaped praise on his fellow countryman.

He told beIN Sports (Via "?Mirror): "I admire and like N'Golo Kanté a lot. It gives you ideas.

"He gives you the feeling that the higher the level he plays at, the more at ease he is.

"We are talking about numbers. He has the most interceptions in Europe and by far.

"He has incredible quality. He feels the game, only very few people can do that. He's always where he needs to be.

"It is very rare to have that in the central midfielder. Not always orthodox, but always in the right place."

Chelsea's incoming manager Antonio Conte is also eager to land the Foxes star and is, according to the "?Mirror, willing to treble the Frenchman's £35,000-a-week wages in an attempt to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
